What do you prefer to "small talk"?

I find small talk a waste of time - part of why I don't socialise much.
I prefer trust situations where people talk about things that make a real difference in their lives - real issues - relationship, technical, political, emotional - whatever - lessons learned and shared, mistakes made, triumphs, tragedies.
The weather can be really interesting to pilots and fishermen, but not nearly so critical to most people.
Most people seem scared of real issues - scared to acknowledge reality - preferring some illusory world of illusory safety instead.
We may not all share the same reality, we may all have our own takes on what is real - and wouldn't it be more authentic to share what is real to us.
I guess that is part of what I love about this website - every evening - I get to be real with a community of very diverse people who all, in their own ways, care about integrity and making a difference.

I love the weather…as long as I am out in it, enjoying it…LOL
Reality is painful for most people…it is very hard for many to be honest with themselves, much less someone else…

You got it Star - honesty has to start with self!
What most people never get, is that all the meaning - they made it for themselves - reality just is what it is - the meaning is all ours.
And the biggest thing of all - we each got to make ourselves wrong - it's the only way any of us can get started into this world of self awareness.
Weird!!!
Only one thing going for it - it sure beats the alternative (of non awareness).
